International day of prayer and reflection against Trafficking in person on feast day St Josephine Baikitha was held at Sahodaya Bethany Seva Kendra Bendur in collaboration with Arise Foundation. The resource person Dr Irene Vegas lecturer form Yenepoya University he spoke on prevention of human trafficking highlighting the theme of the day « JUORNEYING IN DIGNITY» for the cause of trafficked brothers and sisters. Dr Irene Vegas also gave awareness on the prevention breast and cervical cancer on the occasion of Cancer awareness week as women’s wellness. Sr Leena showed the video of the life story of St Bhakitha . She highlighted on the modern slavery affects all population groups like young and old. Human trafficking is heinous crime and its consequences faced by the women and children through power point presentation and short filmon human trafficking. Sr. Shanthi Pirya the Director of Sahodaya Bethany Seva Kendra, in her message said that human trafficking s an organized crime that threatens society’s fabric and the most vulnerable and exploits them for sex, cheap labour, organ trade and servitude of kinds. Nearly 62 women along with social workers, MSW students participated the days program. Mrs Renilla Roshini welcomed the gathering, Mrs Sunitha proposed vote of thanks and Mrs Anitha compeered the program. Refreshments, juile and meals were served to the participants the program came to an end by 2.30 pm .

ದಿನಾಂಕ 8.02.2023 ರಂದು ಸಹೋದಯ ಬೆಥನಿ ಸೇವಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಬೆಂದೂರು, ಮಂಗಳೂರು ಮತ್ತು ಎರೈಝ್ ಪೌಂಡೇಶನ್ ಇವರ ಜಂಟಿ ಆಶ್ರಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂತ ಭಕಿತ ಹಬ್ಬದ ಅಂಗವಾಗಿ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಯಿತು. ದೇವರ ಸ್ವಣೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಆರಂಭಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ವೇದಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಥನಿ ಸಮಾಜ ಸೇವಾ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾನದ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಹೋದಯ ಬೆಥನಿ ಸೇವಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾದ ಭ| ಶಾಂತಿ ಪ್ರಿಯ ಬಿ.ಎಸ್, ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳಾದ ಯೆನೆಪೋಯ ಯುನಿರ್ವಸಿಟಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಸಹ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕರಾದ ಡಾ|| ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಐರಿನ್ ವೇಗಸ್, ಸಹೋದಯ ಬೆಥನಿ ಸೇವಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಸಂಯೋಜಕರಾದ ಭ| ಲೀನಾ ಡಿ ಕೋಸ್ಟ, ಹಾಗೂ ಸಹೋದಯ ಬೆಥನಿ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಒಕ್ಕೂಟದ ಕೋಶಾಧಿಕಾರಿಯಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಸುನೀತಾ ಮೊದಲಾದವರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು. ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಐರಿನ್ ವೇಗಸ್ ಇವರು ಇತ್ತೀಚಿಗಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಧಿಕವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವ ಮಾನವ ಸಾಗಾಣಿಕೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಅದರಿಂದಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ಪರಿಣಾಮಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದರು ಅದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡು ಬರುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸ್ತನ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಯಾವ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಇದನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಪತ್ತೆ ಹಚ್ಚಬಹುದೆಂಬುದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡುತ್ತಾ ಈ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ 40 ವರ್ಷ ಮೇಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಡು ಬರುತ್ತದೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸ್ವಯಂ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಸ್ವತಃ ತಾವೇ ಹೇಗೆ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬಹುದೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ಸಣ್ಣ ವಿಡಿಯೋ ಚಿತ್ರಣದ ಮೂಲಕ ತಿಳಿಸಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟರು. ಸ್ತನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಗೆಡ್ಡೆ, ಚರ್ಮದ ಸುಕ್ಕುಗಟ್ಟುವಿಕೆ, ಮೊಲೆಯಿಂದ ದ್ರವ ಸೊರುವಿಕೆ ಮೊದಲಾದ ಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳು ಕಂಡು ಬಂದಲ್ಲಿ ವೈದ್ಯರನ್ನು ಸಂಪರ್ಕಿಸಿ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯ ಬೇಕು. ಗರ್ಭಕೋಶದ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ ಇದು 21 ವರ್ಷ ಮೇಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತದೆ ಮುಟ್ಟಾದ ನಂತರವು ಅಧಿಕ ರಕ್ತಸ್ರಾವ ಆಗುವುದು, ವಿವಾಹಿತ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಿಗೆ ಸಂಭೋಗದ ನಂತರ ರಕ್ತಸ್ರಾವ ಅಥವಾ ನೋವು ಉಂಟಾಗುವುದು ಇವೆಲ್ಲ ಗರ್ಭಕೋಶದ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್‍ನ ಲಕ್ಷಣವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ಎಲ್ಲ ಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳು ಕಂಡು ಬಂದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಡಲೇ ವೈದ್ಯರನ್ನು ಸಂಪರ್ಕಿಸಿ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
